The discussion changed my thoughts on human cloning, I always thought of it as doing Gods work however when putting it in a different perspective it made sense.God made technology so we could improve this could be one of those things. I still don't think cloning show be used all the time because people will abuse the system. Using it for cancer or organ donors is great, it gives people another chance, one they might not have without human cloning. However using it for personalizing your child might be too much.Also, the idea that you could be carrying your own grandpason makes me cringe. 

Kass's position was the least consistent with my principles.He believed that cloning encourages people to regard their children as property and distorts the clone sense of individuality and social identity. He concludes that cloning should be banned, from the article I feel like this is more of an emotional reaction rather than an accurate argument.

Sexual Morals



To start, I do have to say the discussion was a confusing one for me. Maybe because of the M&M metaphor or because I have not had any sexual relations with anyone due to my strong faith. However I did get the gist of it!


It did not affect any of my principles. It may have a slight impact on my equality principle where in this instance homosexuals and heterosexuals are compared. I can't agree with Goldman who says sexual desire is just pleasure by physical contact and the main goal or purpose of sex is pleasure. Okay, it might be a factor but thats not all sex has to offer. In addition, I can't agree with Levin saying someone is unhappy because of their sexual orientation.


Murphy seemed to be the only one that made sense.I think we shouldn't waste time on what we already know but rather the effects peoples views have on these people. For instance, we should create a law that punishes those (such as Levin) who are saying these things about homosexuals because they are the reason they might be unhappy.

The idea of anarchism struck me as the one of abusing power , i always assumed it was merely chaos until our discussion. the overall idea with anarchism i like, the tidbits of it I'm not sure I can change myself and follow. I like that anarchism has a sense of unity and everyone is equal in a sense. those who are anarchist wont label themselves as that and thats how you know they are truly genuine about their way of life. the idea that you can change and try out "life" until you pick what works for you is great. 

The principle definitely correlates with my "being patient" principle except thats the one I have trouble following. Anarchism is huge on patience , especially the process of becoming one. You have to be really patient to become an anarchist , like REALLY PATIENT and I think trying to live the life of an anarchist would just do the opposite of my principle that i struggle so much in and just lead to anger and lead to that chaos mentioned. I'd have a hard time living according to both principles.

Personal principles that have centered my life:
Not to waste

Be honest

To be patient

Five pillars. (Fasting,donating,hajj,prayer,belief in one God)

All living things have rights 

Respect elders

-Most of these principles were taught to me from a young age whether it was school or parents. To be honest some of these principles were ignored or changed through personal experiences. For example patience. Forget it.

-Growing up I was told to respect elders and I did that for the longest until I Realized that at certain instances we need to throw age right out the window. It doesn't matter what age you are if what you say does not make sense or is ethically incorrect I will respectfully correct you until the person decides to create an invalid argument. What occurs after that is censored.

-For the most part no principles were developed on my own but to put it in better terms they were tweaked.

-The readings and discussions have made me question some of my principles but what I believe in is what makes sense to me and it becomes very difficult to change that.

-The principle that stuck on was to find truth and reconstruct from yourself. You shouldn't always put yourself first. Yes it's the human thing to do because humans are indeed selfish and we grow up being bias but if we can just consider the action of reconstruction of ones self then truth will eventually unveil itself.
